My HD100 settings:

Master Black = -2
Detail Max
V/H Balance H-Max
H freq high
V freq High
Skin Det Off
Level -3
Black com3
White Clip 100%
Knee Auto
Mot Smooth On
Cinelike Off
Col Matrix Off
Gamma Stand
Level Max
Color gain 2

I am not into film looks because I can recreate FX in post.
These settings may look fuzzy in your LCD display under low light but look great on a monitor.
These settings also seem to bringout SSE under low light.

No offense Sonisfear, but you may be the only person on the planet shooting with detail at Max.
I wouldn't shoot above Minimum and all of the popular scene files are shooting somewhere between Minimum and -6
Maximun detail is going to fill your images with digital crap and that's not anythign you can fix in post.
Coversely if you were to shoot at Minimum (which gives great definition without digital "noise") and wanted to sharpen it more, you could do that in post.
But honestly if you want a film look Minimum to -3 is what you should try.
I've got a general scene that we love, that combines the best of Paolo's DSC color settings and a wider filmlike latitude, that's very different form yours and you might really like.

not sure if prev post made it

I knew the max detail would stir up threads
To each their own... this is just one that I use I find it looks great in a RF monitor but terrible on the LCD screen.

How about everyone post their favorite settings and see what we get collectively.

A pic would be nice with it as well.

True, do realize the detail setting adds artificial enhancement to the image to make it appear sharper. I find MIN a good setting for most of the time. If you need a sharper image, you can always do it in post.

Can you post those settings? I'd love to give them a whirl (on Steve's camera) :-)

I created a sticky thread on dvinfo with pointers to Paulo's, Stephen's, and my settings so far. If you bookmark that thread, I will update it as new settings are contributed.

Sonisfear, I'd like to know more about how you decided on these particular settings, and how you would describe the effects of your scene file. It would be great if you could come up with a short name for the scene file that describes it. Screen grabs would also be helpful - maybe one using your setting, and then another on the default Cinelike setting for comparison.

Come on over and we'll do more HVX200 / HD100 testing !

These are both decent camera, they both have the good and bad points.

Looks good on what kind of monitor? RF? You mean a handheld wireless thing?

Have you been able to view your preset on an HD monitor?

Lol....

I was joking guys those are not my favorite settings...

Master Black = Norm
Detail off
V/H Balance H-Max
H freq norm
V freq norm
Skin Det Off
Level -2
Black comp1
White Clip 108%
Knee Auto
Mot Smooth on
Cinelike Off
Col Matrix Off
Gamma Stand
Level max
Color gain 2

These are more like my standard sets but they change. I haven't found a set I use all the time.

The orignal set I posted I actually use with the V440HD because the V440HD (I am guessing) has some sort of noise reduction or error correction.

The noisiest settings on the cam seems to come out looking sharp but not as grainy. But if I were to connect the HD100 direct to the Ref mon it looks grainy. I will try to get screen grabs.
