My new video for Sexy Argentian singer "Coral"

Hello DV Shooters-
Here's my latest video for Coral, a super talented Argentian singer now residing in NYC. I shot the video on a DVX-100 on location in Buenos Aires, her Dad had a street legal dune buggy- We popped the top off, and drove around downtown B.A. for about an hour- I had a radio hanging off my neck supplying play back, while I did the shooting. We shot about 11 takes in total- A couple w/ guitar, and a few w/o. I edited the video in about 1 week on my FCP set-up. I hope yall enjoy it- Feedback is warmly welcomed...

Tried watching it... actually didn't work for me. Says quicktime is missing some software which is unable to download.

Am I the only one?
 
It worked for me. The WMV was fine. She is beautiful and the video was very well done. The effects (speed up, twist, etc.) got a little old after a while, but overall a very tight video. The quality was real good for shooting at night. Impressive. Not sure about the colored bars, top and bottom. Do you plan on cropping those? Please. :)

That is some fantastic editing! Your transitions were top notch. The shooting was very well done too although it did have some very dark shots. Perhaps an on-camera light could have helped. I thought the gradient letterbox was very very cool.

My only gripes were with the singer. Not to judge a book by a cover but her appearance seemed very very casual. To the best of my knowledge, if you want to make it in the music biz, especially for a woman, you've got to sell it. With regards to this video, what she was selling, I wasn't wanting to buy.

Your creativity seemed to outshine hers in this one. To me, she was what kept this video an 7/10 instead of a 10/10.

I liked it butI agree that the style got old quick as it needed a change up here and there. Maybe a story line would of helped?
 
It got old because it was the SAME ANGLE! I loved the shots, the editing and the natural lights, but honestly, the concept does not hold too well.

ProjX was right about the girl. I do agree she is hot, she seemed beautiful, but it was really hard to see her beauty. Very dark CUs, no full figure shots, too fast paced editing. She is pretty, but let's see more of her, and then again, I come back to the concept of only one angle! What happens in other music videos, where there is only one angle (fancy directors trying for something "new")? Changes of lighting conditions of background, something has to add variation. It reminds me of the clip from Bjork where she transforms in a silver bear, in that, it is the CG that has the variation, different patterns, different aspects of the bear revealed... Anyway, your video did not have a very entertaining varying pattern, albeit very well shot and with very nice effects. Maybe you could edit it differently, with progressing discontinuity of cuts, or add some other location or shot. Maybe add different lighting conditions, such as on camer lights, or some cheap flouros hanging in the car, who knows...

The music does not help, of course, it does not have a strong personality in order to hold a one style video (an exemple could be the white stripes, even though their video keeps the same concept from beggining to end, they have a really catching chorus and a song that can hold you watching).

Buenos Aires Rocks, it is one of the coolest, most beautiful cities I've ever met. Just seeing you drive by Nueve de Julho fills my heart with warm memories - argentinian girls are beautiful, Coral reminds me of a friend...

Loose the colored bars, they are visual pollution.

good job on the lighting and colors used. is it actually possible that the cityscapes can be more interesting than the artist? unfortunately yes! i agree that more angles of the talent would have been very helpful in keeping it interesting, at least for my viewing experience...made Coral seem quite dull and i wish she would have gotten that water out of her ears!
