my new short - "KYLE"

I really like the opening credits score..really good you could have had better actors for some parts, camera work could have been a little better (like when you jerked the camera at 2:40) really good soud effects. also it looked like at 6:24 the dude gave the man like 2 dollars lol also the fighting and action scenes could have been alot more realistic and at 8:12 I did not believe the guy who said "ok, ok I'll give it to you!" at all. I think the part at 10:08 is really cool I like how you did that. but at 10:11 when he hits the other guy is weak.
again, 10:14 is good, but Im not so impressed with the guys expression at 10:16 or 10:22 I like the effect at 10:59 though the "*****!" at 11:24 is weaker than a wet leaf. Due to the bad acting that is about as far as i watched it but you did pretty good overall, good job.

6/10

Keith,

Thanks for your feedback! Yeah I know the acting could have been better - I used my friends, they did the best they could. The jerkiness comes from trying to hold up the camera and 35mm adapter on my shoulders - been trying to find ways to stabilize it more.

I'm going back to the specific points you point out and try to improve or change on my next project. Thanks again :)

pretty good

pretty good

This was a good attempt at characters having abilities. I lked the TK guy I wish there was a sound effect or special effect for his hands to make it believeable to me it looked like a guy holding his hand out and a actor acting like he is choking. Well I guess if it worked for Darth Vader it can work here also.

Like it very much. Although it has some minor technical issues like they said above, it´s pretty good, and you can tell it´s done with more effort than budget. The story becames realy interesting near the end... so i hope to see the rest of it.

Good luck.

Hey man good job on this!!! Definitley a few parts where the camera was shaky. The acting could have been better but hey we all use our friends, thats what indie film making is. I thought the continuity in the cinematography was great! Very well paced. When watching short films, my attention span is usually very short, and dont make it past 8 minutes on everything.....your film was a first, I watched it all the way through. Great Ideas, Great Cinamotagraphy, over all great job man! Keep it up!

Your films are getting better compared to your older stuff. With your camera work, the jerkyness did get in the way. I think your best solution is to work with your limitations. It seemed like you were doing some cool camera moves. Were you doing them hand held? If you did, really good attempt at trying out those type of dolly like shots by hand, impressive. If not and your using a tripod or a track then shame on you!

You said you had problems controlling it on your shoulder. Then I think you should have used your limitation to its fullest. You should have made the film a shaky type handheld film, and keep it consistent. If you kept it like that then those mistakes wouldn't have been a distraction.

There is a part in your film where the camera is shaky, its when the main guy is walking and his friend is sitting at the tree, it was shaky and if you kept it that way through out I think it would have been great.

Good Job either way.
