My new HVX200...

Well, I only powered it up this morning, before work. I haven't purchased P2 for it yet. I think I'm actually going to go for the FS-100 1st. I'll keep you posted.
 
I agree with you regarding the FS-100 vs. P2. I should be receiving my HVX next week from AVS with one 4gb (only $300 because of the package: HVX200 ($5300)+4g for a total of $5600). I was goind to buy an 8gb P2 for $1300, but then decided to wait for the FS-100 (for less than $2000). I think it is a much better deal than the 8gb P2, especially for someone who can wait a few weeks. Too bad the spec-comm cineporter (160gb for $2000) is only expected for end of June/early July (too long for me to wait).

Interesting. That looks like a better deal, yeah, too bad it's not coming until July.
 
Just too bad the Firestore can't record native 720p or you'd be able to record a lot more video on it :(

Still around 100 minutes is still much better than an 8gig card recording native I suppose!
 
Again, the jury's still out on that -- I asked 'em for it, and they didn't say "no", they just said "we will ship in March." So it's probably a safe bet that it won't store just the active frames, but maybe (maybe?) it will? Maybe? Hopefully? :)
 
If it's only a 100 minutes.. that would be a bit of a bummer. I can shoot more than that with the P2store in 720... WOuld be nice to do a 100 minutes in 1080 though...
