Gas is cheap here. $3 sounds expensive because we have gotten used to cheap gas. Look at the cost of gas elsewhere in the world.
And the front side... Just look at those pouty lips

No, I meant that in general having the next new car, truck, better vehicle is an ego thing. Not accusing you of that.John_Hudson said:It ain't about ego.
Yup, that's a very common misconception about trucks. Because the government safety standards don't have as high levels for trucks (this includes suvs) the manufacturers don't spend the money to make them as safe. This was also a big win for the industry since they realized they could make a product for less but sell for more and more and more. Thus the marketing drive to push SUVs and trucks. They never say that they are less safe. They just let people assume bigger is safer. It's not and has been proven in safety tests.John_Hudson said:I used to drive a Honda Civic and hated every bit of it; felt exposed, vulnerable. I feel much better in my Crew Cab Frontier (and my wife drives the Xterra)
Ah, but you should because it should make you ask "why is gas less expensive here?". Could it be that our petroleum industry gets a lot ($$$) of support from our government which helps to offset some of the costs?John_Hudson said:I can care less how expensive gas is in England.
Ha! No offense taken John! :cheesy:John_Hudson said:ISo you can take that analogy and shove it up your OPEC. (not you Hansk)
HansK said:What a great opportunity to switch from driving to a form of transportation that does not use gas and is healthy for you. I found when I switched from driving to riding a bike to work I was in a better mood. The hassles of driving (traffic, bad drivers, cost of gas) just went away. If it's at all a possibility for you when I highly recommend trying. Even if for one day a week.
