Well congratulations. You've done it. You've finally made it to this point, of creating a camera that does it all. But I suppose it would have been just too right and too real to make it truly complete. You just had to go and make a 99% camera, with no 24progressive. After all, that's just one tiny feature that I suppose you felt was'nt one of the leading desires for those waiting for the right thing to come from your (supposedly) great company.
After all, why give the people what they want, when you can do so much better by creating an obstacle with confusion.

-Thanks Sony You're one of a kind

The founder of Sony, Akio Morita, died in the 90s. Since then the company has lost direction and character. Sad but true.

Sorry Letsburnbridges, I need to make a small correction to your post. Not everyone in the world knows they need progressive, but they do need it. They pay good money to buy a camera with good quality, they should get high resolution footage, and not half resolution internaced. Now not everyone in the world needs 24 FPS, because not everyone wants to go to film. I understand that. But Sony should have made the camera progressive instead of using absurd cineframe modes, and should have made sure the focusing system works well. At €3000, I think they could have made sure the autofocus always focuses on the main large subject at the center of the screen, instead of going for background focusing just because the elements might present more contrast. Even a €300 camera manages that.

Not everyone - let me fix that - is showing his or
her video at home on a projector.
Some people even broadcast their work of art.
As soon as there will be progressive TV I will
agree to the above. For now I'm happy with 1080i.
Instead of always poking around 24p 50i whatever -
How about looking at the real problems that cameras has.

Ever seen what it does to fast moving pure red parts of the picture?
Huge artifacts. Never seen it? Don't talk about Sony havin a problem
not having 24p. Interlaced sucks when its making problems like this.
But 24p is a strange religion. You don't NEED it for TV. (espec. in EU) But it
sometimes helps not to have to deal with 50i-Problems.

I don't think the 24p crowed (of which I consider myself a part) realizes how small a percentage of the overall market they are.
