These are the last two videos I made at Two Fish.
"Rags To Riches" by Casta Troy
I edited the music video. The DP was Ryan Taylor.
The in studio shots were done on an HVX200, stock. The outdoor shots were done with the HVX and a Redrock lens adapter. Nikon lenses, I believe.
Schied Electric Commercial
Shot on HVX200 without accessories.
I shot and edited the commercial. It has some mistakes. Some avoidable, some not. I edited a good amount of the commercial but I didn't finish it because my employment ended before I could finish it. The video I posted is the final version, another employee did the rest of the editing.
The elderly actress was a pain to work with. She would not cooperate with some of my simple requests. I wanted her to hold the receipt higher when she blew on it. That way I could frame in tighter. Everytime i asked her to bring it up she seemed to get frustrated with my request. I even showed her right where I wanted it but she would not budge. Excellent.
One of my favorite problems on the project was the pre production phase. My boss wrote out the script and proposed it to the company. They loved it and gave us the go ahead. After that there was virtually no planning done. One day my boss just approached me and said "hey, let's start shooting this today." My jaw just dropped. "[boss], we don't have any actors, how are we going to shoot it?" That's just a taste of the the crap I had to put up with.
Oh well. It was a great learning experience and I have walked away knowing more about what to do and what NOT to do.
