My #$@&^*( LANDLORD

Before you leave determine what your rights and obligations are in your state and make sure you have any evidence you need to enforce your rights. Also, determine the landlords obligations pertaining to refunds. Include a newspaper in the video to document the date the video was shot. I would shoot some stills also just in case the court can't provide a video player (unlikely but why risk it).

lol. we are in a CHT apartment, but "J Michael Apartments" is one of the other nazi apartment landlords we have here in madtown

Ugh.
I'm having trouble even findig a place to stay. This crap really makes me look forward to dealing with the BS involved too.

Having a newspaper in the shot doesn't amount to much.
It would be fun to do some video of a new apartment, and see how many things you could fabricate digitally.

Like a newspaper, a hole in the wall that wasn't there when you first moved in.

Note: Be fun= a fun excercise, not to try and fool courts and landlords.

I have actually been pretty happy with my apartment living situation simply because I moved in 2+ years ago and they have taken care of everything I have ever complained about. They did try to jack my rent up extensively but after discussing (fighting) about it I'm only going up $11 for another year long lease.

The one thing I learned though, and use this for what it is worth, is that the number one fear of apartment complexes right now are lawsuits because of mold. I dated a property manager for a couple of weeks and she told me that the mold thing is their number one priority to deal with when it comes to their properties. A great way to get out of a lease or to use as leverage is to talk with the property manager and tell them that you have been having alergy problems that your doctors haven't been able to address and they asked you to talk with the property managers about the potential for mold. This should get you almost anything at your property... or so I have heard (and friends of mine have used to get out of leases... NC has very tight lease laws that favor the owners vs. the renters).

I don't know if this will help with your current situation because I've always done bonds as deposits, which mean you don't get the money back when you move out.

I feel your pain, I lived 2 yrs in palmdale and noticed that in my apartment building everytime someone left, the rent went up $100 and their place got remodeled. New carpets, fixtures, cabinets, the works. My wife and I left and 2 mnths later we got some mail by a bill collector... $2100 for new paint, new cabinets, new fixtures, new carpet. Hmmmmm, I wonder if the money I had to pay was for remodeling???... hahha, but my credit is already bad, i just told them to set the debt aaaaalll the way in the back.

I have the worst landlord ever. Our ceiling has been leaking in our bathroom for months now, and no one comes to fix it despite repeated visits in person from me and my roommates to their offices. Our neighbors also want to kick us all out, because the ***** that lives there has hated us since day one. Last night I caught some kids trying to break into our house, so let's just say I don't like where I live right now.

I rent from a friend and have Buddhist monks for neighbors. There are drawbacks of course....prostitutes aplenty and a WalMart just opened up at the end of the street (its the only WalMart I've ever seen that has an entire selection of clear plastic platform light-up stiletto shoes....hmmm, wonder who thier target consumers are on that one... could be the dancers at the Centerfold Lounge across the street, but I'm not certain)

Hi, this is your friendly realtor from Shreveport, LA (Hollywood east) I have a 3br 1 ba 1100 sq ft home that is fixing to come on the market. My wife and I have turned a barebones house into a classical warm home over the 8 years we have lived here. Two kids and a dog later, 1100 sq ft is a tight fit and we are going to build a new home, so if you can afford to rent, you can afford to buy this dream home in a laidback growing metropolis. So first come first serve DVX user discount.

Prior to buying my house, I never had a problem getting my security deposit back, but that's because I HATE moving so much that I stayed at places longer than I should have. Here in California, landlords are required to paint every four years (I think) and if you stay that long they can't charge you for carpets either.

I am not sure about the painting, but I am pretty sure the carpet thing is true here in Jacksonville, too. I've always gotten my deposit money back. I even got a note from my last landlord with my deposit refund telling me what a great tenant I was. I rented from that one for five years and he never once went up on my rent.

Dark and lonely on a summer's night.

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

Watchdog barking. Do he bite?

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

Slip in his window. Break his neck.

Then his house I start to wreck.

Got no reason. What the heck?

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.
