My journey with the FS700

Dont worry about the song :-) It is more about the visual. So far so good.

I wouldn't apologize...your work is mesmerizing to me. Excellent. In fact, usually the videos just end and I'm wishing there was more. That's saying something. Fantastic stuff.

I learn most of my skills from the boys and girls on this site without them I wouldn't be where I am. They have watch me grow and support me with positive and negative feedback ever since the day I grab that FS700 which was about 11 months ago. All my friends and family think I am crazy spending all these money on a hobby but the community on this site has never tell to stop shooting or tell me not to pursue my happiness. So with they believe I just go out there and shoot whatever I think is beautiful. So I am happy and grateful for what you have said about my works Trex. I will keep shooting :-) by the end of this year I will have my first short story for everyone to see. Thank mate.

Not many of you play with PP2 or even play with 400FPS. I though I give it a try and see the outcome. Just a break from dreaming about the Odyessy7Q lol Enjoy.

Beautifully shot, love it.

2 questions, what type of slider did you use? And with some of the running/walking shots were they on steadycam or handheld? Thanks mate

Thanks you. No slider or glidcam use at all Matt, Only handheld. I use the marker on my menu to line up my shot before pulling forward and backward...side way or from left to right. I wont be able to achieve the same result with 25FPS. only with 100FPS, 200FPS or 400FPS.

Hellou,

great footage...could you please tell us what kind of export settings for vimeo are you using? I like the clarity of your films when watched online...thanks and keep up the great work...

Brilliant and simple short film - love the combination of life and death, beauty and decay. Thanks for sharing.

I am not a pro by any mean but I have only been using Premier for a year and shooting for a year. This is how I have always export my file but I could be wrong. If I want the file to be small I just do H.264 vimeo HD 1080P. If I want the quality to be at it best...I export it as H.264 HD 1080P. I hope that help.

The image is too small to read!

Also, do you happen to know what caused these lines? Does anyone? Is it sensor line skipping, or interlacing effects, or something else?

I just had a look at the original footage Jedi,

I think it might just be cause it is 720p upscale to 1080p or it to do with the Flare effect from the sun. I am not 100% sure. Like I said I have never shot 400FPS before, this is the first time I am giving it a try. I dont very recommence anyone using PP2...The BLACK is way too DARK.

I never got the kit lens Daomay as I have a bunch of Canon glass.

What would you say are its redeeming quality's?
If you hypothetically didn't own it now, do you think you would Still buy it?

Stick to your Canon glass. Yes it a great lens for zoom but once I had the metabones speedbooster and the canon glass to go with the FS700 it is very hard to go back to it...Canon glass just give it that filmic looks compare to the kits...especially PP4. The only things I love about it. I can zoom in and out of it quite easily. Auto focus is great but apart from that NO I wouldnt buy it. With this video I was just having a play with positive and negative on my shots. Mucking about with some grading.

The team at g-technology has ask me to submitted a video with the theme MY AUSTRALIA for a competition they were running. I love making film they want a creative piece from me cause they are a fan of my works....well here it is baby. Enjoy it and I hope life treat you all well.

Just a teaser for my final film coming this weekend. Pretty proud of myself from a humble hobby in just a year to shooting it for real hehe. Enjoy

Awesome video I made with my buddy Jimmy Yang. This time I use Zebra (80) and histogram (PP2) just like what you guys recommenced...Yeah baby no over-expose on my highlight! Enjoy
