My HVX202En won't start up!

Turned on my hvx202en this morning to capture some footage shot on the p2 cards about 5 days ago and it won't start up.

All it does is flash the "Camera" then "MCR" then "PC" lights three times in a row and then ends with the "Camera" light flashing a fourth time. And then it does nothing. Each time I do this, with different batteries, with the power supply, it flashes the same series of lights.

I looked up the trouble shooting section in the manual, and the nearest thing is the batteries being dead and the lights flashing because of that. But my batteries aren't dead and my direct power cable sure isn't.
I've removed my p2 card and tried. Put it back in and tried. Nothing.
I pressed the reset switch as well just incase.

Still nothing except those blinking lights in the order described above.

Can anyone help me out with some info as what I should do or whats going on?

Update: still no luck. It simply wont start up. I've double checked the batteries are charged etc, but it all it does is give me the flashing lights as described in the above post.

However when I have it connected to the power supply now, occasionally it will the do the lights pattern and then other times, no lights will flash but I will hear a continuous whirring noise (a quick one, its similar to the sound the camera makes when the reset button is pressed) that occurs on a 1 second interval.

Any help guys? I need the camera for work and can't really afford any down time.

Thanks, but don't you need to be able to switch/boot the camera on to install the firmware? The camera does not start up.

There's an issue where sometimes the cables inside the camera become loose or whatever, and you get weird behavior like this. You could take it into the service center, or someone on here posted that he opened up his camera and re-seated the cables and made it work again, you could try searching for that thread...

Generally, when an electronic device flashes lights in sequence, it's an error code and means something (often can tell you what's wrong). If you can find the repair manual online you can find out the code. Also, as Barry said, the loose connector is common.

Loose wires. Didn't expect that. Thought the camera was built like tank:)

Well Im taking it to a service centre today. My biggest problem is its outside of the warranty. Anyway thanks for the advice guys.
