My HVX won't pick-up certain shades of purple

This is the only color I've seen it happen with, but I discovered it the other day when I was shooting my room mate in the kitchen, he was wearing a blue shirt and next to him was a plastic purple pumpkin halloween candy collector thing.

So I took my camera to school and just shot a color chart in the purple area and here's what I got:

1st picture: The original color chart.

2nd picture: What my HVX got.

Is this because of the 4:2:2 colorspace? I tried it on every stock HVX scene file thinking it was a color temperture setting or something but no. Am I doing something wrong or is this just what it's supposed to do?

Looks like a simple whitebalance problem. Perform a manual custom whitebalance before you shoot the chart.
