I was for soooooooooo long browsing and learning and when I decided for the DVX100B, few minutes later,,,,,,,my order was for the 150, lol!!! but I have some problems,,,,I ordered from Willoughbys the 11 of march and the order got here march 20.
The problem that I have is the if I record holding the camera with my hand and then I place the camera on my right knee the material next to the tripod hole of the camera when is press make a loud click sound, the tripod hole has many marks on it, 2 circles that are very easy to see, don't suppost to look perfectly flat without marks, like new?
The picture quality is SUPER, I'm recording in HG HE only, the navigation is very simple to learn and the audio features are great, I'm going to use it recording live music, the 2 xlr connections are SUPER!!
My final word,, I'M IN LOVE AGAIN!!!! last night I play the video from the cam rca's to my tv and the picture is just perfect, remember I'm recording at HG.
I hope that clicking sound is not a big deal.

That sounds mighty suspicious to me... The two I use still don't have and marks on the bottom of them.

Do you mean marks on the metal tripod plate? that metal is not polished.. so marks on it should be normal.

Or are you talking about marks on the plastic around the tripod holes on the bottom of the camera?

The metal part with the 2 holes for the tripod has 2 round big circles and to be honest the first impression is that show some use, maybe I'm wrong, all the other black material in the same surface of the tripod hole is fine, doesn't show any wear or marks, but when I slide my finger up and down in that material I have a plastic clicking sound, I noticed that when i was recording and I place the camera on my knee and made the clicking sound.

I don't know, the gyus at Willoughbys told me that I'm not proessional and that Panasonic deal with me now, PERIOD. They also say that they sale from 1471,,,,,,,lol !!!!!

the tripod hole is a rectangle metal with 2 holes for the adapter, that rectangle has marks of wear, 2 big circle marks that cover the whole metal part, the whole metal is about 1" by 3/4 the rest of the surface dark material like plastic, I'm sure is not plastic but looks 100% fine, BUT if I slide the finger on the dark like plastic material along the metal part sides, I press with my finger and that dark surface has a gap, is not firmly attach, I CAN'T BELEIVE THIS.........

Manolo: the metal tripod plate is not finished! You'll see markings on it.. it's not suppose to be a smooth flawless metal surface. I think you are over reacting.

You can tell if your camera has been used by viewing the hours counter in the menu.

I found the damage, is ugly, that why the cracking sound.
I cant beleive this people can open a box and send me my product in that condition.
I FEEL VERY SAD,,,,I just can't believe it. All the boxes looks with no damage it all.
Thanks Willoughbys

I don't know about anyone else but the metal base plate on my camera has some marks on it making it look lightly used but I know for a fact that my camera was 100% new and factory sealed.

The only clicking sound that I have is the "clunking" sound of the I.S.

You think maybe it was dropped in shipping?

The base plate having marks CAN be normal but any other sound outside of the image stabilization system "clunking" is NOT normal on this camera with no moving parts outside of the lens system.

post us some pictures of your damaged areas.. What you're saying makes no sense.. even if the brand new box was dropped in shipping, damage shouldn't be localized in just that one area.. the HMC is packaged in two boxes... but you're saying your box was not damaged.. You keep suspecting your camera was "used" but you don't do a simple test of checking the Hours Counter...

If I press the plastic immediately next to the metal tripod plate, I can see slight movement too but that's just the flexibility in the plastic skin.. Are you sure, you're not just seeing this?

I asked a question about it being dropped...
The OP did not say anything about it being dropped that's why I asked him that.

Also if a camera was used as a floor model it doesn't mean that it would have recording time...

True.
My point being that the camera could have been a floor model with out being turned on...

Okay???

I think the OP should post pics before everyone starts jumping to conclusions. It could all just be a big misunderstanding.

ops,,, last night I found the damage in the camera.
I'm 120% sure that this store Willoughbys sent this cam to me just to make the sale.
I won't get another one from them, both boxes from Panasonic were open and then shipped to me, I can see the double tape in the side that you open the box the people in Panasonic told me that Willoughbys have the obligation to send me another order with the boxes seal, this is an agly practice from Willoughbys, I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.
I was posting here to share my great experience with my new avccam, I never imagined that would be like this. When I first spoke with Willoughbys, my very first impression of them was bad, they KNOW EVERYTHING they lie to me, they say that they don't have a showroom, that they don't have cameras on display, no store, only a warehouse.
