my grandparents greyhound bit my face off

I don't think there is much to stich up. Missing tissue is missing tissue and stiching wont help in most cases. I would however, get a tetinus shot just in case. Got bit on the ass one time by some kind of hunting dog and got a shot just for good measure even though they were well kept dogs.

Yeah I think I will go in for a booster shot tomorrow before I fly back to LA. There is nothing to stitch you're right, plus i heard its not good to always stitch dog bites, scarring, possibilities for infection,

here is an updated picture

this was taken 10 minutes ago, exactly 24 hours after I was bit like a doughnut

I think, if I possess the discipline, take a picture everyday from the same angle in the bathroom then after 24 days I will animate the jpegs into a second of healing, I will call it the second of healing

then two seconds of healing will follow

Get that checked out. Make sure that doesn't get infected either. Seriously, go see a doc and make sure everything checks out. Getting medical advice from DVXuser is unsound.

See a doc,
But remember, chicks dig scars. Make up a cool story that doesn’t involve nuzzling a greyhound.

Under the circumstances I hate to say this, but thanks for posting pics. I thought you were full of it with that story... and when I read of all the other guys who nuzzled dogs and got bit I figured it must be common. Then the pics and ooh, okay sorry for doubting you. Ouch.

Hospitals suck but yeah, infections are a bad thing. I don't know if iodine and hydrogen peroxide followed by a daily neosporin coating is good enough or not.

Good luck with that. Sorry for the bad holiday experience.

MAN!!!!!
I've been a paramedic for 12 years. GO TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!!!!!
I hope you haven't let it go too long. If you let stuff go, really bad things can happen. What kind of bad things? Well,
Infection,
Cellulitis,
Meningitis,
Brain Damage (you don't have to worry about this one:grin:)

Seriously, this is not something you should be glib about. Infections around teh face and head can result in some very serious ilness and cost more than an ER vistit. Please don't put this off any longer. Go to the ER and get seen.

Seen and done and done. Went to the doctor. He stuck a needle in my forearm and into my ass. I am now on antibiodics and doing well. Damn you, you mutt dog!!!! Oh god!!!! Thanks guys for the encouragment to get my un-insured ass out of the door and into the hands of a doctor..

Good to hear the doc checked you out. You'd be surprised what kind of infections come out of animal's mouths. The antibiotics should take care of that.

Actually, I saw on Myth Busters that a dog's mouth has less bacteria than a human mouth

Glad you saw a doctor and got treatment. A lot of people kiss their dogs, so I don't think it's a matter of getting your head close to the dog's head. Maybe you just surprised him.

Yeah, but my dog licks his ass. That's enough to go get it checked out, regardless of 'myth busters'.

Glad you're doing well.
