GH4 My GH4 died...maybe.

Gear question. I was on a shoot this morning, and my GH4 just flat died. It's mounted on a glide cam, we are 2mins from starting, I look down and do one last adjustment on the glide cam, all good. Director turns to all the cameras and says, ready? I look down to start rolling and see a black screen. Maybe it fell asleep, nope. Dead Battery, nope. I run to my bag and swap batteries...all 5, nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Does it have a smart battery bay?, i.e., it does not power up when the battery door is closed or not connected properly? My 70D does that so where I thought I had a problem it was just a somehow faulty battery door that was an easy swap when I found some one with my same camera to help me test the theory.

Hope someone has your answer bud. Terrible feeling indeed.

No smart battery bay that I know of, I grabbed a GH3 from my roommate, no issue found with her camera or batteries.

EDIT: All set everybody, seems it was a bad SD card.

That's good to hear you nailed the issue.
I was going to suggest a bug or something getting onto the viewfinder sensor and activated the auto on off if these were the current settings.

Dodged another bullet. Something simlar happened to me the other day - Mac Mini shut down after sharing to Vimeo. The fan wasn't working. I dreaded a possible motherboard replacement. Turned out to be that funky connector.
