My GH2 rig (sans GH2 lol)

Like most people I can't get my hands on a GH2 yet, so a Nikon F100 is the placeholder cam. Otherwise the setup is finished. I think I want to add a mixer soon though...

Wow, that's some stuff. I presume that since you have the audio recorder and mic mounted on camera that this rig is for documentary, or videography work? It's funny how we turn a really tiny camera into something slightly smaller than an Arri 535. That's how it goes though. It does look cool.

Looks good, does it sit on your shoulder? I'm assuming you're left handed, right? :)

Can you operate the FF while handheld? Seems like you might have a 15mm rod in the way. Also, the camera seems set back quite far, id be worried about seeing the rig on a wider lens.

I guess it gets pretty easy to spend more on the rig than the camera with a GH2, eh?

You mention adding a mixer, do you not find the DR-100's mixing capabilities to be enough? Or do you just need more than 2 xlr input channels?

Frankencam - cool! Beautiful portrait of the rig btw, could be the cover pic for this website. I think I'll do a portrait of my rig as well and hang it on the wall in a nice frame.

Yeah, it goes below the FF. I've since better rearranged it anyway though. I was finding the rig a little front-heavy so I moved the camera back as much as possible, I checked it with my 14-24, it's exactly as far back as it can possibly go WITHOUT seeing the rig or mic.

Well the controls on the DR-100 are a little light-touch, you can swing the levels from minimum to maximum in a split second, I'd like to avoid messing with them if possible. Also it'd be cool to have a test tone. I'm not thinking a srs bsns mixer, probably just a MixPre, so I wouldn't have any more channels anyway.

Nah that's mainly just to get everything in the photo, I plan to do short films mostly. If I can figure out how not to have the cables banging into things I'll hopefully be able to keep the recorder on the camera though 'cause I'll probably be mostly one-man-banding it.

BTW the rig seems like overkill for a $900 camera because the GH2 I think is mostly going to be my "tide me over till Scarlet arrives, if it ever actually arrives" camera.
