Last month I participated in a 77 Hour project under the umbrella of the 48 Hour Project organization. It was 77 hours, which began on Friday 7 pm local time, and ended at 11:59 local time on Monday.
Several people I had worked with before that I contacted were not available, and the two people I could get via craigslist had never really worked on a film project. But heck, we got something to submit... for better or worse... or worser...
Last week there was a screening of the submissions on a real live theater screen, and I was not embarrassed by the quality of the Pocket relative to the other submissions. There were many things that could improve, but the image quality was very good when viewed in the theater. I was concerned that I was essentially blowing up a s16mm sized image to fill the big screen. This was the first time ever I've seen my material on a screen bigger than a home screen... and more frequently just on my Laptop or now my iMac.
Then there's sound... but at least my sound didn't have weird 'filter' artifacts that some of the submissions had... ok... there is the background of a freeway but I didn't try to suppress it so much that would produce the really ugly artifacts... I'm working on improving my sound equipment as we speak...
Update... forgot the technical info:
BMPCC ISO 800 for the daytime shots, ISO 1600 for the night shots. Lumix 14-140 lens for the day shots, f/5.6-f/8 and final scene. Night shots Nikon 28mm f/2.0-f/2.8. RAW mode was used for all capture.
Anyway, it is password protected at the moment, and that is:
