very good stuff, are u delivering in HD somehow? probably not i assume, anyway 720p downrezzed to a 480p dvd looks great too.

Looks nice. Shots are a bit shaky, what kind of tripod were you using? Wasn't feeling the music too much, sounded like Greatest Hits from the Shire Vol. 1. Also why did your render turn out like that with borders? But overall the HVX performed ok when in candle light with some overheard lighting. how dim was the lighting at the reception?

What was your workflow like during the wedding? Was someone assisting you in off-loading the cards? Would like to know how you handled it when the cards get full.

I thought the intro with the shots of the church could have been a little faster. I liked the shots with the guests coming in but wished there were more close-ups. A little shaky in parts, it contrast a lot because all the shots before that were smooth.

That first shot of the priest was pretty bad with that huge Exit sign right there. But that was probably the best angle you could get?

Yeah nice shots on the dark scenes. Always the receptions are a pain to capture. But the HVX holds real nice.

The only other thing I would say is to color correct a little. Considering you shot HD, I would take advantage of that fact. Everything just looks so video. Flat. Like you shot using DVX.

Nice 1st wedding. Keep it up.

my 2.

What is up with the export on the size of the video vs. sive of the window. I know that the first project you have never done is the most nerve racking. Looks good for your first one.

i didn't notice the shakiness all that much. the music was a little on the bland side. sounded like a music loop playing over and over from a program like ACID or something. other than that i think you had some good shots in there.

i didnt notice the shakiness either, but editing using only crossfades bacame a little distracting, more so on the longer transitions.
just a personal obsevation.
some really good shots though

Ok, my original fcp file got corupted so I didn't have the original 720p timeline to export so I had to use the m2v file and bring back into FCP, edit and export (wierd dimentions on export). I basically just cut stuff from the original and added some different music.
Here is the original intro (actual music) from the m2v file. weddingintro.mov

Tripod was a radioshack fluid-like tripod, not the greatest but it'll work till I make some money. Reception was very dark, I lightened it up quite a bit. Acutally some of the shots at the reception were handheld. but yea the tripod was a piece of crap.

Firestore.

Yes I was pretty much stuck in one spot so I think I was lucky just to even get a shot at all.

Thanks

WOW that makes me WANT to get back into shooting weddings....Great stuff...exceptional job with the low light situation at the reception...Some couple is very lucky to have such a fine looking production to remember their big day.

That was the fastest loading clip of that quality I've seen. Looks like almost no compression. What were your export settings? Does your host have unusually fast servers? My clips hosted on .Mac are lesser quality and take forever to download.

I really liked your shots on this piece. Weddings can be frustrating with regards to camera position and the pressure to get the shot in one take. Nice job.

My only two suggestions would be to bump in some natural sound here and there. Clients usually want to hear at least the vows come through. The other suggestion would be to consider a change in the music. It wasn't working for me. Maybe as a quick into, then change to a slower more dramatic piece for the ceremony, dances, etc. Make 'em cry.

Keep up the good work.

Nice all around!

What settings did you use for web export? I have been playing around with HVX footage trying to get clean exportfor web.

When shooting the reception, did you have an on camera light, were you gained up at 6db or 12db? or was the lighting in there adequate?

Holy money bag wedding....jeez. Would hate to see that bill. Nice footage tho. Better than my DVC30 Wedding shoot by far.

Great shots, especially for a first wedding. You are on your way.

I liked the irony of that shot. While the priest is talking about them entering into marriage, he's got a big glaring sign floating next to him saying "exit." They say 80% of communication is nonverbal.... The client may not appreciate the humor as much as I do though.

One suggestion for moving forward: I read your business name as "Pimp Works." Even if it's just subconscious, that may not be the image you're trying to project for the wedding market.

Thanks to all for the kind remarks, I added a new clip to the beginning of this thread with some color correction, little shorter and will be using on my site for business.:)

H264 modified a little.

no light on camera, I did lighten up in post a little. I didn't for the customer and they thought it was a little dark but hey, that's what you get for $200. Actually I did the reception as a favor because they didn't even ask me to do anything but kind of expected it. note to self: next wedding get customer to put everything in writing.

Actually it's not "PIMP" it's "PMP" (initals of my family). Used the name for a few years now and I think I'll stick with it, thanks.

wow.. that guy has to be the most unhappy looking "just married" guy i have ever seen... dosn't it normally take a few months for that " omg what have i done!! "look to set in?????

for a wedding where u may have to move alot and work with your angles allowed by the church, good work. im sure your couple didn't notice any shaky video.. i think it was mentioned but that exit sign ooh, i just wouldn't use the shot at all.
