Hey guys,

I have shot weddings before for other companies but I was the only shooter for this. This is the first wedding I have ever booked where I shot and edited a video together by myself. I am still working on it but I wanted some feedback. I used the Gh4 and the G7. I enjoyed using the G7 and really noticed an improvement in low light on the G7 compared to my GH4.

Well.....I think that was pretty awesome. Really nice edit... and very cool looking wedding as well!

What lenses did you use / how high did you push iso on the G7?

Hey Doc,

Thanks for the kind words, I used my slr magic 10mm t2.1 and I also used the Leica 42.5mm f1.2 for the low light. I pushed the ISO up to 1600 and some stuff at 3200. With a little bit of denoising I was really happy with the images coming out of the g7. I actually used it more than my GH4 during the shoot which surprised me.

Really nice. Two of my favorite lenses. And as a previous poster said, looks like it was a fun wedding. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing wedding film. I am considering the g7 to do wedding film work, to step up from my DSLR. One question I have. Does the tripod plate block the battery door when swapping out batteries or memory cards?. I use the manfrotto 502 tripod plates, if it doesn't I would get this camera. Thanks.

Both compartments are on the bottom so it's a real concern for longer shoots.
Not sure about the size of your 502 plate but my Vinten Blue plate definitely covers the door.
I use an Arca plate and adapted a quick release setup on a dedicated light tripod, the G7 is light compared to traditional Vid cams so no need for hulky pods on the job.
PS:
The more I use the G7 the more things I find out about it.
All up, it's a stand out camera for me, still or video.
Wish List: They have to put an earphone socket on the next model.
