My First Two Short Films Shot with the A7s

Nice shots. Now the next thing to do is figure out how to get the camera moving and make them more dynamic. A small slider can do wonders for low shots, and if you have the money 3 axis gimbals are easy to pick up and get good motion.

Thanks. I'm looking into a slider at the moment. I was pleased with the quality of the pix from the A7s. I'm using one of the picture profiles from this site and the images are edited as recorded without any grading. This was a quick bit of filming on each, around an hour on location and then around 30-40 mins on FCP X.
So, I'd be hopeful that if I had more time to spend on the next one, the results may be even better.

I'm sorry to disagree, a slider wouldn't add anything to the shots. I would spend more time on better framing, trying to catch some interesting moments. It's way more difficult and one probably needs to get lucky, but that's the best way to shoot.
I'm sure you could get more interesting views just moving around. Don't get me wrong. Some of them are not bad. But I believe that working on better framing, catching interesting moments it's the only way to build stories, and then CC, film emulation, but that's a further step, really not needed if the base is solid (in fact a lot of videos from the FilmConvert contest are extremely boring!)
I'm strongly against camera movement unless they're really motivated. It seems that nowadays everyone add sliders, gimbals, drones and every single clip is slowmo, just WHY?

I know what you mean about too much movement or too much slo mo, but used in the right manner a slider (and other tools) can definitely add something. At the end of the day, it's all down to personal preference. The same goes for colour grading/post production. In my paid day to day job (ENG work mainly), you're expected to get the exposure, colour and everything else right at the time of shooting, as tight deadlines mean there isn't the time to spend changing it later. But on side projects, I will, sometimes, have more time to spend on this.
