My first time out with the GH2 on a trip out of the US

I just got back from a trip to South America and used my GH2 for the first time. As a pro still shooter for 20+ years, I was not sure what to expect from my new camera. I loved it and could not be happier with it. I shot everything in 24 and mostly used the 14-140 kit lens, as well as the 20mm 1.7 for low light. Since it was a documentary, kind of run and gun, I would not take my tripod again. I bought a total of 5 batteries and never ran through 2 in one day. Took several cards and still had a couple left over, even though I backed up my files on a MacBook Pro at night. I bought a Halo rig for the camera, JuicedLink, and light but mostly used the camera alone. For a lot of interior shoots, I used the exposure compensation but from now on will only use fully manual exposure instead of the shutter priority. Everything fit nicely in my ThinkTank bag, along with my Nikon.:cheesy:
The only thing I did not like was the boot up time for the camera. I lost a few shots due to the slowness of the camera getting ready. Anyway, very happy with the camera and could not have had near the successful experience without the collective wisdom of this group. Thanks!

As we always say here... "footage or it didn't happen."

Glad you had a successful trip and thanks to all the members who contributed to getting you up to speed.
