my first time dolly shots

I like it. Fast dolly moves seem to really bring out the DVX's strobing issues, but damn, do the slow dolly moves look like big budget film. Someone said it once before, but I'll say it again, dollies are worth their weight in production value gold.
 
yeah the dolly is worth it's weight BIG TIME

John, lol, you know it baby! And your dolly shots look good man. Especially that look with the dark hallway with the lit up bathroom and lil man playing at the table. Good looking stuff man.

These dolly's really do give the DVX a big motion picture feel
 
So yesterday at 'Pre-School' they had the children perfrom a little show for the parents and of course my wife made me bring the DVX to document the silliness. What does my son Jared do when it's his turn to 'do his jig'?

He comes off of the little garage stage and behind the DVX and starts helping me shoot the performance. I asked him 'What's up? Do you not wan't to perform?' and he say's I don't like everyone looking at me and I wan't to help you.'

Sigh..

updated: okay it just went through. Great shots. The music you chose was very chilling! don't know why but it reminded me of the sixth sense. I kept waiting to get scared!

I guess the lesson is that if you want to do dolly shots you need to procreate so you have subjects to film :grin:

Both of you (coffee and john) have real cute kids. Hey I got neices so maybe i'll make a dolly or find someone to make it for me (yeah that's better)
 
Great stuff, guys! I've been meaning to make a dolly for the longest time, but the part that I'm a little hung up on is the best way to make/acquire the wheel trucks. Now I'm all inspired to hit up the new DIY forum for some pointers. :)
