My first time directing...

Thanks for all the kind words.

Chamber005- I plan on doing something narrative very soon. Right now I mostly have been trying to work on some other crews, mostly lighting, to network/learn/practice/learn, etc. But with the monster fest coming up I plan on doing a short narrative piece for that.

My biggest problem is that I am not a fan of writing. I don't feel it is my strong point, but I do have the idea I want in my head. So right now I am going to try to get an outline going and then give it over to a writer to see if they can make something of it.

Thanks again for viewing the piece. I am glad you enjoyed it.

Not bad. If it's your first time directing, it's a good job to start. I've seen first time directors that bore me to death. This project was definitely unique. Good luck on your next project.

Better than other stuff I've seen from first time directors. The only thing I would suggest is slowing down some with the camera movements so they are more smooth and use an ND filter or possibly a polarizing lens when shooting outside to better define the sky. It looked really white and blown out at times and almost ran together with the house in the background. But that is a very common mistake that everyone makes.

Great stuff. Funny stuff.

The only thing that bugged me was when the camera crew went into the house/company thing (was a bit confused as to where he was), the people inside didn't look at the camera crew AT ALL. Not to mention that at one point it seemed as though there were two cams, one in the house and one outside, yet clearly there was only one cameraman and one sound guy.

Some of the performances were a tad over the top, but all in all it was well performed and put together.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate everyone taking the time to look at my piece. I actually agree with everything that was said. Having watched it a bunch of times there are definitely things I would have done differently, but hindsight is always 20-20. Thanks again.
