I have been camped out on this board for about a week straight reading everything I can get my hands on. So happy to have found this place.
I'm in the process of acquiring a 100b and a basic lighting kit. Shooting a short horror film in Feb. Already cast the two leads due to the disturbing nature of the script, I knew I would go through a bunch of actresses and I did. Know I've got two super-cool ladies lined up and they are both psyched about the project.
I studied as an actor in Vancouver but have always loved to write and in the last year have seriously wanted to try directing something. I wrote and produced a short film last summer that was directed by Larry Kent, unfortunately it never really came together in post. I learned a valuable lesson - if you really want to make something keep control of the process. Still, a valuable experience and I saw how easy it is to waste your entire budget on a bunch of superfluous crap.
Anyways, the short is about two sisters, one of whom is quite disturbed. She has convinced herself over the years that she is in love with her younger sister. And pretty much thats when everything goes apocalyptic.
I'll be posting questions over the next few months and I will try my best to scour the forums beforehand, just wanted to introduce myself a bit and give a little thanks to everyone who has contributed here. It really makes me feel more confident that I can actually do this after absorbing so much information.
By the way my names Roger. Talk soon.
