my first stop motion film

Nice start... Looks good. Could you describe your workflow and process for this.. and how long did it take? The hand and all that looked smooth.
 
the action could have been a little smoother, but i know you're not trying to make the next corpse bride or anything. stop motion is just fun.
and with hd i'd do most camera moves in post.
did you use the 1 shot record and 1080?

the first video i ever made was a stop motion film using a 3 foot stuffed penguin.
 
Great job! I always thought stop motion looked cool. Would love to see another some day when you have the chance! Nice to see something different for a change.

No problem with a Mac (by the way, I did this movie on a Mac). Just right click the Link and download the file. After that remove the .txt from the filename and watch it in Quicktime Player.

Thanks for your comments. I did it in 720p and used the one shot record mode (2F). I used the remote to trigger the cam so I wouldn't accidently change it's orientation. Edited it in FCP. All in all it took my about 3.5 hours. Was fun to do... next time I will use my Beaulieu 7008 super 8 camera :-)

for drawn animation it is advised to use 2fps, but for stop motion it's better to use one fps, that way you get a smoother flow
 
nice work! i played a few times and never heard the apple scream... oh well! i wouldve loved to watch this for several more minutes...

Cant wait to see the next one with the apple with a bandaid going after the knife... First unscrewing the light bulb in the lamp (que the shafts of blue outside moonlight) then he squashes the pen (que ink blood).. then he spills some acid on the knife and it, well you know what acid does.... hahaha
