I got my DVX a month or so ago and this is the first comedy short, "Mr. Semprini's Delight", that I made with it using FCP. I also used Magic Bullet for color correction on the "Basic" setting. It's about 6 1/2 minutes in quasi-silent film style and the only audio is public domain music from the 1920's, mostly ragtime. We shot it over the course of one day. Any criticism of it would be great, especially on the color correcting, editing, and overall camera handling (other than the effects of compression).

if anyone wants much better quality i have another version at ~100MB at: http://www.boophumor.com/toasterfinal.mov

Thanks for any feedback!

Yes, it is a website, www.Archive.org. They have a large collection of 78RPMs and some other more contemporary music available, most with creative commons liscences for noncommercial use.

Do you think the music went well with the short?

Ummm... Interesting... Pretty well put together. I'm just wondering where you came up with the story line. :)

It was mostly my friend's idea, the one in the DARE jacket. We both like absurd/silly stuff and that random loose plot seemed to fit the bill.

make sure you re-mask/letterbox your footage when your finished for two reasons.

make sure its black, and, have it remain during the fading.

kew little short though.
