My first shoot

Very nice footage!
Questions:
1. did you use a 35mm film lens adapter? If so what lenses?
2. when you had him tossing the ball did you slow it down in post or thru camera?
3. how did you do your vertigo shot? dolly w/zoom?

Great Job! Looks fantastic!!

No adapter, it was the stock HVX lens. Tossing the ball was shot at 48fps, and we did have a homemade dolly for the vertigo shot. I quickly cut this together, the vertigo shot was a little bumpy, but I have to go through all the takes because I know I had one that was smoother. I lit mostly with two lights, a 1k softbox with the outer diffusion panel removed, and a 650 open face about 20 feet up. I actually bought two 1k soft boxes and the 650 for 280.00 bucks total on Ebay. My friend brought his mini crane for a few shots. I am glad you like it, thanks. I bought the HVX in may, and it was my first camera I have ever laid my hands on. I am primarily a sound designer and composer.

I'm curious to know, what sort of work flo did you use? P2 - P2 Store-Computer-Hard Drive?
Did you shoot mostly 720pn?
What software did you use to edit?
And last but not least, how did you create the brightening effect at the end of the take?

It was 720 PN, and I dumped right from the camera to my macbookpro into finalcut. No pcmcia slot, so I just put the camera in firewire host mode, and dumped from there. The brightening effect that I think you are referring to is a plug for Final Cut called chromatic glow from a bundle from River Rock Studios. The flash frames were from "too much too soon". I did a bleach bypass on a lot of the footage with the natress film filter bundle.
