My First Shoot With Someone Famous

I'm pretty excited about a recent interview I did with LaMarr Woodley of NCAA Football fame.

As a tech-nerd, I'm not very knowledgable about the football scene, but some of my friends made a huge deal about it. After running a Google search, it turns out this guy is all over ESPN and just won a bunch of awards for breaking college football records, etc. He was extremely cool and very modest, especially when talking about how he was basically about to become a multi-millionare in the NFL.

I'm still heavy into editing it, but I can post some clips if you guys are interested. I actually started this thread because one of my co-workers took some really nice production stills that I thought you might like. Feel free to use them for avatars, sigs, etc...

There's me looking like I just woke up. Probably because that's what was going on.

Nice stills. Yeah, I did some shooting and editing for a promo/interview piece with somebody that wasn't famous but was from a famous NFL team, the Seahawks. I think he's a RB for the Redskins now. He got cut from Seattle because of an injury and went on to start a clothing line with Cory Wire from Buffalo(?). It was interesting.

What was the experience like? Interested in seeing some clips.

It was great. The video was for this new program in my area where hometown "heroes" spend a few days with kids in urban areas encouraging them to stay in school and away from drugs. They are taking interviews from the biggest sports stars who participate in the program and sending the video nation wide for more support. I am happy to be a part of the project.

I actually had some time to set up my lights and equipment prior to the shoot, so I am extremely happy with the results. Most of the time when they send me on a video shoot it is run and gun, so being able to take my time was nice. It sure beats weddings.

I was also lucky to get some great footage. Almost every question he answered was usable, so I feel really comfortable with the edit. I'll post some footage when it is ready. It is certainly different than the cinematic aspect of my videography, but it was a good time and I made some good money.

EDIT: msconce - I am using a Sennheiser Wireless G2 and an Audio Technica shotgun, which was on a boom stand (not shown in stills). I also try to use my Presonus tube preamp to boost and warm my signal whenever possible/convenient.
