My first music video

Hey folks,

This is my first music video, and my directorial debut. I have been DOPing for fellow film students and indie people here in Vancouver, and have decided to pursue my original passion, directing, as there's not enough DOP stuff to keep me busy. I love doing both equally, I ended up pulling double duty DPing and directing this one.

The budget was around $1500. I'd appreciate any and all feedback.

We shot it with my HPX-170, and a Brevis 35mm adapter. We had a few problems, like having our first day cut short by four hours, leaving a lot to do on the 2nd day. Didn't get all the shots I wanted, and the intro still bugs me, I originally had a beautiful opening shot but again, no time to get it. Pretty happy with what we did though.

Yeah, I second that. Excellent music video..I like the soft look you gave it.

I loved it.

Normally, I can only listen to classical or country for about as long as I can hold my breath but this was great! Nice work!

Solid. Only thing that bugged me is when she is lip-singing into the mic out on the field. She didn't sell it for me. Oh yeah, that kiss sound effect on the opening frame sounds cheesy. But awesome country music feel all around.
