My first film- "Caller I.D."

I recently started looking back at one of the first films I directed, one that was produced for the 48 Hour Film Project, and have been thinking about doing a fairly massive re-edit to make it better. I have some of my own ideas about what should be changed, but was hoping I might be able to recieve some impartial feedback from other filmmakers.

what's with the acting?? those guys seem drunk at some points, but they change real fast. In some shots they seem completely sober. It was really boring so i only saw the beginning, but why is the woman asleep? arent they drinking at daytime, if not you should light the scene differently!

The opening scene was actually supposed to take place at night. The inconsistency in this scene is something I am very well aware of, and has annoyed me since making it. This scene tops my list of things to chop, slice, slash, burn, and implode.
