My first Canon 5D Mark II time lapse inspired by Tom@Timescapes and Philip Bloom

My very first timelapse.. Well, actually my third. I went out last night after getting inspired by the work of Tom@Timescapes and Philip Bloom's timelapse stuffs. One thing I quickly realized is that you cannot be your own panning motor.

#1 shot was a pan across Maui at about 6000ft in a 180 degree sweep. I actually moved the tripod head a tiny bit after each exposure which came out to be a total of 467. It was the ultimate test in patience and after bringing it into the computer realized that it was as if I threw the video in a blender. Not smooth at all, FAIL..( should I still upload ?, just so you can see what a failed timelapse looks like ? )

#2 driving timelapse from the location home.. Would have been cool if I didn't roll down the window halfway through the drive and completely fog up the lens. Still, I may post just so you can see. PARTIAL FAIL

#3 This shot. This is where the #2 shot ended and it was such a beautiful night I thought I'd just shoot a normal stationary timelapse. This shot is about 600 shots.

What I learned from this little night out is that you really need the right tool to do a proper time lapse and to bring an extra jacket, damn it was cold.

Anyhow, enjoy this little time tease..
