My fellow Canadian's, need help with rentals.

[Rhydon]

I just finished a promotional film for a tour company, however there is about 5 hours of tape. I think that would be a little rough on the Dvx's deck, searching and capturing all that footage.

Everyone's telling me the panasonic AG-DV1000 DV decks are the way to go, only problem is i only want to rent one. Does anyone know where i could rent a DV deck in the St.Catharines/Toronto/Hamilton area? Also anyone know any prices for a weekend rental?

Thanks-

hmmm....don't know about where to rent the deck....

But I guess you CAN always rent a DV camera (an XL1 or something...something we don't care for ;D) and just use that for the weekend as a deck.

They'll never know!

What, an XL1???!!! are u crazy! id never use such a piece of... ahhahahah, no its not a bad idea. I think Vistek rents out those cameras, just a little worried about canon's sloppy sample rates, even tho people believe its only in the recording process, i dont wanna take a chance- Canon and FCP4 are ruthless enemies. But I think i might pop by Vistek next week to see what they have, perhaps i could rent another DVX if they have them, or even a sony.

If anyone else has any other suggestions let me know-

Simvideo in Toronto rents various full sized decks and smaller clamshell portables.
