my dvx100p says it records, but i put the tape into my cap cam and it has pink stripes across it and toooooons of glitches, is this just me or is it the camera? i would appreciate hellllppppp as fast as you can

thanks

ok im using sony premiums..is that bad? and i ran a sony head cleaner through it for about 15-20 seconds, still the same???? what the heeeck, im freaking out

dont wanna freak u out, but I heard to stay away from Sony Premiums cause of the lubrication. Panasonic tapes are dryer....

get Panasonic tapes, and a Pana cleaning tape, dont use sony

o ok

so is it bad, because ive only recorded probably a ful 2 minutes of footage on the premiums......but i will get a head cleaner and tapes from pana...but then what if when i put the tapes in my capture cam it still has pink bars and glitches?

I am not sure if this will help (switching to Pana tapes) I just know to avoid Sony tapes.... so keep that in mind for the future.

this is pretty much all I can help you with.

all serious camera repair places say that sony premiums destroy the heads. i have never used a single one. i always use 63PQs. so once you get it fixed, make the switch.

nfc565,

Have you tried capturing from your dvx directly. Usually the camera that shot the footage has the best chance of playing it back properly. Your trouble may be the "capture cam".

Did you try to play the same tape? If you had dirty heads when you shot that tape, you're not going to be able to save that footage. Clean the heads on your DVX, shoot some footage on a fresh tape and see if it's better.
