My DVX movie on youtube

Hello Everyone!

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, so seeing how it's a movie shot on the DVX100b, I think this is fitting!

My question is more about a problem I'm having with youtube. I posted my latest movie on youtube (for the 1st time) Called "Love Penetrates The Sky":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsT4qEi_vRI

& I think the over-all the quality is not too bad, except when there is any type of fast motion, or camera movement there is a horizontal line splitting up the frame, here is a example I did in photoshop:

I've seen it on other youtube movies too, I would prefer this not to happen, actually it happens on the Microsoft DV avi too! When I convert it to DVD & watch it on the TV it doesn't do that. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this, or is this the nature of the youtube beast?

I used Premiere Pro 2 to edit it & Quicktime Pro to down sample it to post onto youtube.

Any help or insight is MUCH appreciated! & oh yeah, I hope you like the video! I made it live only for DVXusers to view, once I'm happy w/ the quality I'll add keywords, a description & a title!

Seeing how nobody has responded to this posting, I guess I'm either being picky about the horizontal line, or nobody knows what to do about it.

So I would like to get some feedback about this video, here is the live link:

Hope you enjoy it, any constructive criticism is appreciated.

Hi Ken, First things first... I really like your video on youtube. There is something about this generation of video makers that I'm really diging these days and your video did it for me. I noticed that you have subscribed to Mike Krumlauf, I'm a fan too... Weird thing is, his youtube videos are what truly inspired me to get the DVX100b...

Okay, now with all that being said... To the nature of your problem with the horizontal line... I to use Premiere Pro 2.0 with a DVX100b and have also ran into the same problem. I found the issue in the encoding. I like many other Premiere users have found that exporting through the Adobe Premiere Media Encoder isn't all that is cracked up to be. It's ehhh o.k. however, when it comes to getting the best out of your project, you ain't going to do it from the media encoder that is built into Premiere. Cheapest way out would be to buy Apple Quicktime Pro for $29.99 and believe me it is worth every penny.
Export your movie as an AVI out of PP2 and then import in Quicktime and export as a h.264 .mov file and you'll probably get the best quality that way for a standalone file format... With no horizontal lines... as for the best overall youtube quality...
That is a bit more expensive... Sorenson Squeeze 4.3, I recommend it and use it... I export in the Flash format... .flv file. This saves a youtube step during their conversion process. No Lines either...

^ hey thanx for the kind words NC17z! I really appreciate it!

Yeah, I'll play around more w/ QTpro, hopefully Premiere CS3 will have better output than 2.0!

I would like to hear other comments on my video too, I would appreciate it!

^ I hope that's it, if not I think it's a slam against my video.

The main reason it's on youtube is it's exposure for the artist featured in the video. He's going to link it from his website, & if people do any kind of screen printing related search on youtube, my video will show up & people will see him & his process.

Thanks for the input.

I hear this alot around here. I personally prefer youtube over other means because of the no waiting. Do I really want to wait 20 minutes for a download and then end up turning it off after 20 seconds? No. I appreciate Story more so than visual quality. We all know what the DVX series is capable of. People are different though.

Soooooo.

SOP should be to load a youtube and high quality version. Pewiod.
