Nice footage. I'd be interested in checking out the full res version. Curious about the squeeze mode – your take on the quality of it, etc.

Thanks fellas. I'll upload the full res clip today, and repost a link to it today. (it's about 138MB) As far as squeeze goes, I really like it. Granted, you don't have the full available res of the anamorphic glass, but i'm not going out to film, and this works just fine for me. Might just be psychological, but I can see a definite improvement in using squeeze vs just letterboxing in post. (plus it saves a step)

Actually I cropped the web version upon compression, using Cleaner 6. It's as simple as clicking a few buttons. The high-res squeeze version is still 4:3 (so to view it correctly, you'd need to watch it out of an NLE with it set to anamorphic, etc.) I'm uploading the high-res clip now, so i'll post the link as soon as it's finished.

i took mynew cam to the beach to do some test footage and decided not to due to the wind and salt water(and what the guys at the tv station said happened to there beta sp's) I cant imagine getting that close to the fire to get that Good Footage hope you where downwind :) very nice.

ha yeah it was a little hot to say the least. The wind did keep shifting, and sparks/ash kept coming my way, but I managed. That, and just zoomed in quite a bit ;)

If I understand you used squeeze mode without anamorphic lens and it look better than the letterbox mode at the end. You have to crop 16:9 in both mode, but for one it is in the take and the other is in post. I was thinking squeezze mode only work with the anamorphic lens. You have to do a 16:9 cropping on your LCD or EVF for sure if you don't want some crap though.

Hey Kai could you please check the link for the full res movie. I tried to download it and it wouldn't go.
I need more a small taste of fire has got my blood boiling, I can almost smell the smoke. Ah pyromaniacs of the world unite!
