Finally finished my DIY 35mm and follow focus. Both Adapter and FF work flawlessly. Already got 3 jobs for it.

Very neat... you got any still grabs?

I spy a huco gearbox :-d and also they look like SGpro gear rings... would be kind of hard to make your own one of those... Also is that an RC car wheel and tyre on the follow focuS?

uhhhh good eye "hoarp001" It is a huco gearbox from a US distributor. The gears are from Cinevate, the knob is a RC tire, and the marking disc is white plexi.

I was thinking of putting one of chrome rimmed tire. The one you see on low rider RC. But I thought it would be much "bling". My whole FF unit cost me about $135.

I am most proud of the adapter. That cost me about $65 to make. I'll post some image as soon as I screengrab footage from todays shoot.

Thanks everyone. Just want to insipre and encourage those who are thinking of making one. Take your time. Measure twice, cut once

oops.

you can see the motor at the bottom. I didnt monitor in underscan. Luckily its just a test shot.

I've been hungering to see a build up of a spinning adapter, since my DIY static is just a pain in the ass to work with.

im using canon fd lenses. Just trying to acquire more lenses. Just have a 24mm, and a 50mm. I would love an 85mm, but damn prices!!! uggh! and damn ebay! Im always losing at the last second by a buck!!! ughhh

That's Pretty freakin sweet. Do you mind telling us all of the parts you used to make it and where you bought them? Any help would be appreciated. P.S. Use auctionsniper.com to help you win those ebay auctions!

I made a spinning adapter that had a great looking picture, the only problem was the size and that it was spinning, so it had it's limits on roughness (cd fell off) and the vibration of it when moved and spun was slightly noticeable on certian shutter speeds and frame rates.

Just adding to the encouragement here; awesome job. That looks really great. I'd love to see some test footage and hear about the specifics of your design.
