SHORT: My Directorial Debut(Teaser Inside) *TMNT Shortfilm*

Its been a long time coming guys and gals. i have had this "Casey Jones" short film idea for over 3years and i am FINALLY putting the final touches on it. the video below is a sneak peak of what we got along with a premier date.
**HINT HINT** its the same day the Original TMNT movie came out.
a huge load has been lifted off of my shoulders. I know you understand how hard it is to get that first one in the can.

Any questions or comments just lemme know ill try to answer everything without spoiling the premise of the short film.

Hey Carlos. That brings up memories. That character is memorable. Did you have to do anything about copyrights to be able to use that character?

we arent making any money off of the short film so we shouldnt have any copyright issues. I did thank Laird and Eastman for creating the great characters we are using in the credits

This is actually a very false statement. Copyright infringement is copyright infringement, regardless of profit (or lack thereof). “We aren’t making any money” hasn’t stopped high-dollar lawsuits in the past.

And with franchises like this, you’re not only up against copyright but potentially trademark as well. You should talk to an attorney who specializes in entertainment and copyright. There are lots of fan films out there based on all sorts of different film franchises, and they largely get by. There have been cases of cease and desist issued to fan films, however, and you don’t want to be on the receiving end of litigation that way. Copyright infringement accusations, not to mention lawsuits, can be a bad mark to have on your reputation when it comes to new clients and collaborations.

Just make sure you have all your “i”s dotted and all your “t”s crossed.
