My D90 Setup!

please excuse the poor quality pic. Camera phone. Anyway, I'm slowly upgrading. Going to add probably a H2 audio recorder, battery grip, LCD monitor and a follow focus. Too broke, like many of us so this will do and so far so good, I have no regrets on this investment.

I can overcome its limitations. I'm surprise how well the footage came out if its lit right. Not bad for a under $1k HD camera with interchangeable lenses.

Yeah, I didn't feel like taking the strap off. Got lazy.

Actually the lens hood came with the 85mm. You can probably find some on ebay fairly cheap.

a question over your foto

a question over your foto

Hi, i´m new in this typ of stuff with my Nikon D90.
I have seen your foto and im interesting to know what´s the name of the part that you use. To stabilize the D90 with the threepod.

Also what´s the name of the front suncover or whatever it is. In front of the lenshood.

Many thanks
Nic

that kind of mattebox (aren't they talking about the hood between the lens and mb though?) is nice because its sides can be used as handles for handheld shooting, works quite well. otherwise i agree, whether it's a shade you want or a filter holder or both there are probably better options. especially since that one probably cost more than the camera.

can you give a breakdown for all components and costs?

I mean could i replicate this setup (minus the tripod and camera) for say $100 or so?

How are pan shots with it?
