GH5 My camera starts recording with a half-press in the shutter button

Suddenly, my GH5 starts recording when I make a half-press on the shutter button. When I attempt to do a focus with a half-press, the red light starts blinking and the camera is actually recording. Even if it is in manual focus, the same thing happens -- if I do a half-press to clear the focus close-up box, the camera starts recording. Is this some wacky setting? Or does my camera have a case of premature record-ation? :laugh: (Maybe I need to point it at uglier subjects!)

Did you check the half-press menu settings?

Sometimes when a setting is on or off - usually pertaining to focus - it makes cameras do that.

Took a quick glance at the menu...try the 'Focus/Release Priority' setting.

You pointed me in the right direction... I had "Half Press Release" set to "On." I set it to off and all is well again. I can now to a half-press to get focus without starting recording.
