I wrote, filmed, and edited this music video in the span of about three or four days. No budget, no adapter, no crew. I have to say I'm very pleased with the results. I've been using an ex-1 for some jobs lately, and I started having doubts about my trusty dvx, but it really pulled through for me. Still a great camera. I also got to use my pvc skateboard dolly which I built a few years ago and never used in a serious project. We filmed the nighttime performance four times, one in 30p and one in 60i for slow motion. Some of the narrative is also 30p slowed down to 80% slow motion. Most of the narrative was shot handheld.

I know the story is somewhat cheesy and not terribly original, but it is what it is. I think it fits the song. I hope you enjoy it.

I really enjoyed that man.
Visually it was nice and pleasing to the eye, DVX lives up to its rep once again.
Your shots were well composed and framed, good eye for framing mate.

My only beef here is that the sound track was thin. I like the song but it wasn't produced well enough for me. I've been a muso for 25 years and have loads of studio recording time under my belt and to me, the sound of this track is just too thin.
It needs more mixing and processing, the drum sounds, especially the snare, sounded limp, and the whole sound it lacked bottom end. I'd remix this tune and do a re-edit and you might have something real sweet.
Video top notch,,,audio: needs work.
Thanks for sharing mate!

Yeah, I guess I should've mentioned that my friend (the artist) had an equally low recording budget. He recorded it in some guy's attic. I'm not sure it's within his means to do a better quality recording, though he did say he knew someone who might be able to do some mastering on it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, though.

Did you record this entirely with the dvx100a or did you use the EX1 as well?
I liked the video work, but surprisingly I really liked the song. What's the artist's name?

All dvx. The artist is Doug Keith. He's a friend of mine who just likes playing and recording music in his spare time. We're both sophomores in college, just messing around with fun hobbies :)

Hell man, good job.

Fantastic song, I wish the quality of the drums would be a bit better.

Nice video, and nice shots.
