Doing some camera testing NEX FS100R and NEX EA50U with various lenses and cannot believe the difference.
Sony 18-105 f/4
Sony 18-200 f/3.5-6.3
Sony 55-210 f/4.5-6.3

At full wide, 0 gain, 1/60 shutter the 18-200 at f/3.5 indoors with house lights on looks extremely dark...like all the lights are off and only the bright windows and light fixtures show up. ?! The rest of the room looks like all the lights are off and it's night time.

I swap lenses between cameras and same result. The other 2 lenses look good on both cameras so it's not a case of 1 camera being better.

How can this be?
How can a lens at f/3.5 be THAT much darker than an f/4 or f/4.5?

Did you physically check the lens to see that the aperture isnt stuck partially closed? Look in the front of the lens while it is attached.

I'd rather not say but since you were kind enough to help me I'll go ahead and eat crow, haha. I had left a ND filter on it which is not SOP. I rarely use them but alas that is what happened. haha:embarasse
