My AF100's image quality has suddenly dropped

I have had the camera for about 2 months now and had always noticed an unusual amount of noise in the dark areas (blacks, reds, blues) but just brushed it off. Recently, however, it started to become really obvious and really blocky/pixelated. I have no idea if the censor is faulty or what the deal is, and I know what this camera of capable of producing; I have seen and done work that looks great, which is why i am concerned.

There seem to be blue specs/pixels throughout the image, in anything that is even slightly dark. It makes everything unusable.

Help :(

Might be a silly question but is there any chance your record format accidently got switched from PH to HA or HE?
(that could easily explain a sudden change in quality).

You might have a log and transfer problem in Final Cut. Some people were having problems with older generation Macbook Pros, because of the bus speed. Have you looked at the footage some other way, like in Adobe CS5?

Yea I have looked at it in another program and it still showed up this way. I can see it on the LCD of the camera, too.

mmm 2 ideas, reset the camera to factory settings, 2 if youre using micro lenses, clean the contacts for the lens mount electronics, also try other lenses, ehm check your video on external monitor output from the camera, and take a look at your nd filter wheel, might be creating some sort of artifact... also get a sensor lupe, and check if it may have dirt or fine hair, smear, remember interchangable lens means check your sensor for the unexpected.

I'm not using any micro lenses and have checked them for smears, dirt etc and they are clean. I will try the camera reset asap.

I reset the camera and still find that the blacks are EXTREMELY noisy. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the issue I am having regarding the blue artifacts showing up in any of the shadows/dark areas in the picture?

if youre using an adaptor, that could be the issue here, if it isnt light tight it could be contaminating your shoots...
another thing could be that something on the electronics for exposition burned out... and if i were you id be visiting vendor, or consulting the boaring process of customer service asap.

Here are screenshots from the test i just did. The shots are perfectly exposed, white and black balance was adjusted, and settings are set to the ones I listed earlier (which MULTIPLE people have reported getting clean images from). The shots are better lit than the ones I posted last night, however the issue is still very obvious.

This next one is out of focus because it was hard to see the issue in a still frame with the detail on my camera case:

I'm using the Kipon Micro 4/3 adapter which hasn't reported many problems that i'm aware of. Yeah, I bought this from bhphotovideo.com. I guess I could take it to a retailer in the area, but I want to make sure it is covered under warranty, as the camera comes with a 3 year, doesn't it?

The camera only comes with a 3 year warranty if you signed up for it. A warranty slip should've came in your box when you ordered it specifying that you need to sign up to be eligible for the 3 year warranty.

Which I did, so I think that covers that. I just need to know if this is more than a setting issue and is a hardware issue before I ship the camera off somewhere and am without it for a bit.

You should contact the service center in either LA or NJ for an evaluation. Did you change monitors during this process? I am not seeing a lot of noise but that doen't mean you are not. Which monitor are you using to evaluate? Regardless, check in with service and have them take a look.

Best,

Jan

Jan, I will contact the California ASAP, as I live here. As for the monitors, I saw it when te camera was plugged into my Sony Bravia LCD and I also see it on my 17" 3.02GHZ MacBook Pro.
