GH2 My 60i Hacks top out at 3.99GB...

So the 24p mode records forever and does great, but in 60i mode (with numerous hacks that I have been testing the past few days) all stop recording when the file size is 3.99GB, meaning that the hack doesn't span.

Is there a way that I can fix this issue in PTools? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Steven

EDIT: And this has happened with the Orion V4B hack, the Aquamotion V2 hack, and Driftwood's Mysteron.

Here's a link to Flow Motion v2, it spans reliably across 4GB files in 1080i60 FH mode, using standard Class 10 SD cards rated 30MB/sec or higher:

  • Reliable 100Mbps peak performance in AVCHD 24H, HBR, FSH, SH, and MJPEG HD.
  • Exclusive 140Mbps turbo mode boosts peak bitrate to handle 80% Slow-Motion 24H mode.
  • Records reliably with Class 10 30MB/s cards, with 60Mbps file-spanning in 24L, FH, and H modes.
  • 95MB/sec SD cards support file-spanning in all video modes (except NTSC HBR 30p and FSH 60i).
  • Full support for all NTSC and PAL video modes and options, including ETC zoom mode.
  • In-camera playback of all AVCHD video files. (MJPEG HD videos not playable in-camera.)
  • Failsafe operation with any lens, in any video mode, under any type of shooting conditions.
  • Consumer-friendly auto-exposure features fully supported in 60Mbps 24L, FH, and H modes.
  • Fast Action 3-Frame GOP performance with B-frames visibly indistinguishable from I-frames.
  • Optimal motion picture quality consistently maintained in underexposed low-light conditions.

What I need is a reliable hack in both 24p and 60i modes, with bitrates of around 60-80mbps in both modes, that spans properly, and has a low GOP (preferably 1).

Is there a hack out there that meets these specs?

Thanks,

Steven

Flowmotion v2 is the best patch I've used, period;
24H spans with the Sandisk 95 64, Patriot EP 64, 24L with all

Thats its max; what FM2 is brilliant at is capturing quality comparable to intra with such efficiency, allowing it to maintain full functionality and reliability of stock (with said cards).

That's interesting, because LPowell in his post above says that it can reach "...100Mbps peak performance in AVCHD 24H, HBR, FSH, SH, and MJPEG HD...."

Yes, that's correct, the peak bitrate that Flow Motion v2 will reach in these video modes is 100Mbps. The average bitrate will depend on how well-lit, detailed, and sharply focused the subject matter is, and will typically range from 40-90Mbps.

Ohhhh okay, that makes sense. Thank you for the clarification.
