Came home from work and my wife pointed to the box. I shot some footage with my daughter running through the hallway for an hour and am really blown away! I really love this camera. I purchased the 24 to 70mm. The rug in the hallway has these little diamond shaped patterns that showed some moire but you know what? I really don't care. This camera is more than i had hoped for. I also hooked it up to my tele to see if there were any of the hot pixels. Thankfully not! The images look fantastic through the av cable. I even learned how to use the histogram. I don't have a computer that can edit this footage. Buying a mac tomorrow so i can share with you guys!
 
Thanks! It did come with the new firmware! It has 24p. i havent really tested out the sound yet. I need to buy a zoom h4n for that.
 
I have a Zoom H4N that I've used with my Mark II, but I found that I had to rig it up to my Zacuto mount. Then I had to slate it when recording. So I picked up a Sennheiser MKE 400 and I've been very happy with it, especially with the manual audio control with the new firmware.

I have a Rode VideoMic which I plan to use on whichever HDSLR I end up getting. Mostly to use for helping to sync up sound.

Definitely recommend the H4n.
 
Im new too sound so it seems the zoom would be perfect for my needs which would be alot of action handheld stuff. Plural eyes for syncing sounds pretty cool. Ill have to get that too!
