My 3 min shortfilm

Very nice work. I enjoyed it. If you don't mind me asking, what is your workflow? What lenses did you use?

Thanks!

nice looking, some nice shots, good composition overall.

I felt however that your whitebalance and coloring were a little off in some of the scenes, couldnt tell if this was intentional to make it look dreamy,or jsut the grading was off or the shots them selves.

Also the story wasnt super clear, or concise, i think some tightening could happen.

Your actor looks a lot like Paul Dano.

Thank you.

I first made cut with original files in Adobe Premiere Pro (so I didn't convert original files to any other format or codec), then exported it as uncompressed microsoft avi and imported that file to Adobe After Effects. In AE, I made different layers for every shot and added effects Curves and Color Balance to those layers. I also added fast blur to two last hugging shots. Finally in AE I made one more layer that had effects Unsharp Mask (20, 35, 0) and Sharpen (10) that effected every shot.

Then I exported video as uncompressed microsoft avi and used VirtualDub to convert that file in to xvid format. Then it was ready.

I used only Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 lens.

With whitebalance issues you mean yellow hugging and street walking shots? At least I think those shots could be less yellow.

I agree that story wasn't super clear. I tested last hugging scene with many different ways that made clear that it was flashback. But people that viewed preview version had so many fun versions about what happened there that I thought to not make it clearer. I don't know if it's a bad thing that movies aren't always so "easy".

Some shots could use little tightening, you're right.

Thanks for your comment!
