My 24pa foot. needs to be rendered?

Shucks Im sorry as always- So I shot footage in 24 pa. I opened a FCP project and set prefs to capture with the adv. pull down. I also set prefs for a 23.98 sequence at the same time. However now with my clips captured when I drop them in the timeline they require rendering.
What the Pho? Seems I had this problem once before but my brain must have died a little cause I've no memory.
Shouldnt I be able to capture my 24pa footage and edit without rendering?

latest film I saw that I would have swore was film was a chinese lang. film called 24 City- Freaking beautiful. I think I will warm up to HD.
 
I think this same thing happened to me a long time ago, but what I would do is create an entirely new sequence and set those settings for 24pa, that way you always have a sequence for those settings.
 
Well I've created new projects using the 24pa for capture preset and sequence but to no avail. I get the red line each time.

Ive trashed preferences as well and it still doing the same thing. I drop in the 24 pa footage thats been captured with the adv. pulldown and drop it in the 23.98 sequence and it requires rendering.

what am I missing?
