Is there a setting I need to change to get MXF files to appear in chronological order from P2 cards (HPX 170) or is this a function of the NLE (Vegas 10)?
Finding it a pain they don't show up in order.
The filenames are in chronological order of when they were shot (per card). Look at the first four characters in the filename, they'll be an ascending numerical value, followed by two random characters. So the first clip on a freshly-formatted card will be 0001xx, and the second clip will be 0002xx, etc. It gets a little confusing when one of the random characters is also a number, like 00031z. That's actually clip 3, not clip 31!
When I tried to log and transfer some footage into FCP 7 a couple clips would not allow me to transfer because the were spanned or partial spanned. I renamed the clip on the log and transfer window and then my clip on the P2 card went grey, had an X over it and I couldn't see the clip. I used the clip (loop repair) function (as the normal clip repair option wasn't available) and I got back only 20 minutes of the clip with an exclamation point with a purple background in the upper right of the clip. About an hour is missing from the clip and if I can't get it back it's going to cost me $700. Did I possibly corrupt the MXF file? Please Help! I need this clip to be restored to the original.

Noticed also after a recent shoot, (this happened to be a speech so it was easy to follow) that there were several fragmented clips I had to join in post.
Nothing lost, just fragmented clips all out of order.
Recently bought a couple of 64s and the vendor downloaded the latest firmware.
One of these cards is an "A" series, the other an "E". I did my research and understand the two version are compatible.
Before this I would get two files per take, an MXF file and another (forget the name), now I get only the MXF files.
Wonder if upgrading the firmware had anything to do with my current issue(s).
Those being fragmented clips and clips that are out to order when I drag them into my NLE.
Don't know what's up here. But I'm down loading maybe ten minutes of footage from a P2 Card. And this has been going on for more than an hour. I have never had this experience before. Getting as low as 50 secs then back to 2 minutes.
Three minutes, 6inutes. This is audio to audio transfer. What's going on here. Do I have a bum card or something? We're at 40 seconds now, and back to 60. I was hoping to have this project rough cut by now. Frustrating! Though spending a couple of grand on P2 cards would be result in an improvement in workflow?
Stuck at 10 seconds remaining for at least 15 minutes, then back to 15 seconds. Got to be something up here.
