MXF Files Sorting

I recently had a hard drive crash, and data recovery company gave me about 3000 .mxf files. They are not linked anymore and all files have been renamed. Anyone recommend where to begin to salvage my projects?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear -

You could view in date created order for starters that may allow you to group into projects.

Also perhaps someone can suggest some software that would show thumbnails and allow you to view MXF format files. This would help further.

The Panasonic software I have that would do this is (I think) expecting to see a P2 format/structure to the files so may not like just mxf files. I think Sony have an MXF viewer though?

Also if you're a Premier user the Media browser would do both the above steps for you.
