MXF files into FCP

I'm sure this topic has been covered on this forum but have not been able to locate the thread. I just shot footage on my new HVX 200 and am trying to get the info off the P2 cards into FCP. I'm a Mac user and didn't know the p2 store was strictly for PC's, so I had to return it today.

Please advise on the best and most efficient manner to get the info off the P2 cards into Final Cut. Is there some software that converts MXF files. I shot the footage as 720 24pn, DVC Pro50.

Thanks

Do some searching on this board. The p2 store is not just for PC's, there's a simple way to make it available to a mac. You can connect the HVX directly via firewire to your mac, or if you're using a powerbook with a PCMCIA slot, you can insert the p2's directly into the slot.

I have offloaded the cards onto an external HD but cannot import the footage into FCP because it is .mxf files which cannot be read on my computer. Please advise or direct me to a thread that contains the answer to this. Thanks

Barry, thanks a million! I was just coming back to apologize for posting this question because I went under import and saw "PANASONIC 2" screaming at me. Guess I was too excited and didn't see it. Your awesome reviews and guidance on this board was the primary reason I upgraded to this camera. The footage is amazing and I will see you in Hawaii! Thanks again.
