MXF files & AVID Express HD Pro

I'm trying to resolve some issues with P2 MXF files and the latest version of Avid. When I download the footage, or better say MXF files and try to import into Avid, to preview the clips and do the final tests for up coming production. So I'm not talking about editing yet, we just want to be able to preview the clips, because P2 viewer sucks and it seems that nobody has any answer for it.
Anyways back to importing the files from the hard drive into the avid, the Avid keeps showing error messages saying wrong bin and similar keep showing the errors. I followed the instruction from manual and it's very simple, so I don't know what we're doing wrong?

Anybody has any way to show the steps how to import the files to Avid from P2 card and/or from hard drive?

Thanks a lot!

You have to make sure that there exists (or you otherwise have to setup) the following directory structure on the drive you wish to place your video (MXF) files:

"Avid MediaFiles"

(exactly that spelling, capitalization)

Then a sub-directory, "MXF"

The a sub-directory from that, "1"

(or "2" or whatever number you choose)

Then drag the MXF files from your P2 that reside in the video, and audio subdirectories into the above numbered subdirectory that you created.

Open Avid and it will find the files.

Then, from "Tools" select "Media creation" and drag your files into the project bin.

dat's it!

Thanks a lot dregenthal.
I will try this ASAP and see how it works. This is very helpful information.
