Hi guys,

We made this one on the Sony F3, Zeriss ultraprimes, and recorded 720 50p via HD-SDI 10bit. We used a Decklink DUO SDI card. A few scenes was shot on card.

Minimal budget, all spent on renting the camera.
First time with such a great camera - hope you guys like it!

Cheers,

Christian.

i'm curious about the exposure, the decision to hit the highlights that hard.

Very nice video.
Could you tell us about your choice of 720 vs. 1080 and Decklink Duo?

Sure.

I opted for the 720 50p for numerous reasons. First of all we were planning to have a Xdcam Ex1 as B-camera, and both would be hooked up to the computer with the Blackmagic card. We did some tests (write speed), and found that two 1080 25p would be too much for the computer in 10bit. The 720 p gaves us double framerate (we live in pal land), and I wanted to put in a few slow motion shots, so thats were we ended.

Also I knew I final delivery would be HD and not Full HD, so I compromised a bit of resolutation for more frames, and a pixel to pixel delivery. Makes sense?

The scenes on the boat was shot with a AJA KI Pro - we couldn't fit the generator on the boat (a bit shaky and I guess generators dont like the motion ;-) ).

Cheers,

Christian.
